Why can't I see the ruler in microsoft word 2011? I frequently used the ruler to set tabs, etc, in windows Word. I searched the web looking for a way to display the ruler, but the only answer I saw was that it's not available on microsoft Word.

The first one 1. Open Word 2007 (as you may notice, now we don't have any vertical ruler and horizontal ruler).
- In Word’s default 8.5 by 11-inch page setup, the horizontal ruler starts at 1 (indicating a one-inch margin), then resets at zero where the margin ends, then counts up to 7.5 for the remaining horizontal space. Ditto for the vertical ruler: starts at one for a one-inch margin, restarts at zero at the white space, and only goes up to ten.
The horizontal ruler is displayed below the menu or Ribbon bar and the vertical ruler is displayed on the left side of the Word program window.

Click the View tab, then click the Ruler check box to show the horizontal and vertical ruler.

Microsoft Word 2007 and 2010 use the Ribbon instead of the file menu. Enabling and disabling the rulers is done through either of the following methods.
Click the View Ruler icon on the top of the right vertical scroll bar, as shown in the picture.
You can also click the View tab and check the box for Ruler.
Earlier versions of Word, OpenOffice, and other word processors
- Click the Viewdrop-down menu at the top of Word.
- Check Ruler to enable the Ruler or uncheck Ruler to disable the Ruler.
You may need to click the bottom chevrons if you do not see the Ruler option.

The first one
1. Open Word 2007 (as you may notice, now we don't have any vertical ruler and horizontal ruler)
2. Click 'View Ruler' at the top of the vertical scroll bar.
3. Once you clicked, the horizontal ruler and vertical rulers appeared.
4. To hide rulers, just click the same button again. (as in no.1)
Second Option
1. Open Word 2007
2. Click 'View' tab
3. Select 'Ruler'
4. Now your ruler appeared!!
5. To hide the rulers, click the same button!!
